I don't think you could make up a story as tight as this one. I thoroughly enjoyed the report and the reporter's participation in the story. I miss the good old days and this is a reasonable replacement for them. He also reminded me Of Andy Taylor of Mayberry, but instead of one bullet for Barney, this sheriff runs out at sixty-eight.

This is serious treatment of an archeological find. Strikes me as ironic that there really isn't anything new under the sun. Nothing cute or comedic about a very old element of many societies. There is a shaman involved in this story, and he is Caucasian.

I love books.  When I had asthma as a kid, reading was my salvation.  But I loved to read anyway, Tarzan, Sherlock Holmes, horse stories and canine heroes, I loved them all.  I have a Kindle, what a blessing that magic device is!  This is different, I put this up because it means having someone read to you.  God Bless my elementary school teacher who read "David and the Phoenix" to the entire class.  I read it in the subsequent summers as a kind of childhood tradition.  I have wonderful memories of the fierce Florida afternoon rainstorms as I read about a boy and his fire-bird.
